A school executive will design structures and processes that result in community engagement, support, and ownership. Acknowledging that schools no longer reflect but in fact build community, the leader proactively creates with staff opportunities for parents, community and business representatives to participate as “stockholders” in the school such that continued investments of resources and good will are not left to chance.

I attended a Scholastic sponsored workshop focused on family-school partnerships. Effective strategies to involve parents in the school community for improved student achievement were shared.

I created and administered a parent survey to determine parents' perceptions about our school and the level of instruction. Using data collected from survey responses, I created and shared the powerpoint during a staff meeting where we discussed actions to take in areas where we had deficits.

I assisted with monthly fire drills as mandated by the state. The above documents are verifications of two annual requirements. I assisted with the bus evacuation drill and lockdown drill as mandated by the district and state.
