Standard 7: Micro-Political Leadership
Principals will build systems and relationships that utilize the staff’s diversity, encourage constructive ideological conflict in order to leverage staff expertise, power and influence in order to realize the school’s vision for success. The principal will also creatively employ an awareness of staff’s professional needs, issues, and interests to build cohesion and to facilitate distributed governance and shared decision-making.

The school executive develops systems and relationships to leverage staff expertise and influence the school’s identity, culture and performance.
I created and administered a school Teacher Working Condition survey to determine if there were concerns for administration to address prior to administration of the NC Teacher Working Condition survey. I collected the results to complete the report which was presented to the staff.

I created and collected data for a parent survey to gather parent perception data about the level of student instruction. Results were compiled to create the powerpoint which I shared during a staff meeting. The results were used to develop action steps for improvement.
